Well, it has been a fun experience doing this list of Christmas songs and I hope you have seen some of your favorites on my list as well! Let me say that this is a bit of an impossible task and there are a lot of great songs that I didn't put on this list (The First Noel, Silent Night, etc.) and that might make the list if I did it again next year. But, for right now, as a reminder, this was the list that I had:
Hark the Herald Angels Sing!
O, Holy Night
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Good King Wenceslas
Number 5: White Christmas
Number 4: The Little Drummer Boy
Number 3: What Child is This?
Number 2: The Christmas Song
And, Rex's number 1 Christmas song is:
CHRISTMAS EVE SARAJEVO 12/24 (CAROL OF THE BELLS)
This song, Trans-Siberian Orchestra's take on Carol of the Bells (with other snippets tossed in) is without a doubt the hardest Rocking Christmas song (at least that matters) and in my mind the greatest Christmas song of all time. If you are not familiar with this song, please go immediately to Youtube and play it. It is really awesome. I believe you will also get the opportunity to hear some of it on Rex and the Beast's video from our whirlwind trip to Orlando the past 2 days (more on that in later blogs). So, enjoy the Christmas season and try and listen to a few of Rex and the Beast's favorite songs. We look forward to a fun 2009 here at RexandtheBeast.com!
