The Beast's Fourth All-Time Favorite Christmas Song
O Come, O Come Emmanuel
This often overlooked Christmas masterpiece is enjoying some renewed interest in the last few years with a few popular artists adding it to their Christmas album. The song emphasizes the formula quotations in Matthew that fulfill the Isaiah 7:14 prophecy concerning God's merciful and loving act of "redeeming Israel" with the God-man. In that vein, this is as pure of a "Christmas song" as you can get. That message combined with the powerful 19th century feel of the tune makes this an obvious favorite for The Beast. Below is a more contemporary take on this classic hymn that I think is pretty well done.
